Lourens
Scheepers M.Sc.
Lourens has been involved in mathematical modeling for over two decades. He
has worked for the CSIR, Sasol, Samancor and Gencor. He is actively involved
in all aspects of the business with the emphasis placed on ensuring that
models represent practice as close as possible. He is the founder of LSLPS- "Large
Scale Linear Programming Solutions". Lourens is a fellow of the South African
Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and a member of the Operations
Research Society of South Africa (ORSSA). Lourens is a co-founder of
Kalahari
Resources (Pty) Ltd, a BEE manganese mining and smelting company.

Rob
Featherstone B.Sc., B.Sc.(Met.Eng.),M.B.L.
Rob is a ferro-alloy metallurgist, experienced in operations, works
management, R&D as well as senior management. He has worked for
Transalloys, Samancor and MS&A. Apart from rendering independant metallurgical
consulting services, Rob is actively involved in the marketing of linear
programming and is responsible for setting up required thermodynamics, slag
chemistry and metallurgical balances in LP-models. Rob is a member of the South
African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM)

Cecile
Bruwer B.Sc. H.E.D.
Cecile is a qualified computer scientist and is responsible for software
development and user training. She gave up teaching mathematics in favour of
computer programming and worked for various financial institutions,
eventually as senior systems analyst. She also does part-time computer
science lecturing at the Technikon S.A.

John
Power B.Sc.
John is qualified in mathematical statistics and spent more than two decades
working for Union Corporation and Gencor in the technical computing field. He
has been involved in systems such as PEGS, survey, simulation and ore
reserves. John renders his services to Large Scale Linear Programming
Solutions in the areas of PC-support, optimisation reports, database
applications and statistics.

Rodrigo
Jerez Ph.D.
Dr. Rodrigo Jerez has over 20 years of experience in the Mineral/Energy
Industry. He has been actively involved on several studies with copper, gold,
molybdenum, iron, coal and industrial minerals in relation to ore reserves,
production planning, laboratory automation and project feasibility. He has
worked for Cities Services, Amoco Corporation and Cyprus Minerals Company.
Dr. Jerez graduated from the School of Engineering, University of Chile. He
holds a MSc, and a PhD degree from Royal School of Mines, Imperial College,
London, England.

Gordon
Von Mollendorf B.Sc. (Hons)
Gordon started his career as a sampler at the A.A.C. Kitwe mines in Zambia
and followed the career path from miner, shift boss up to mine captain. He
then completed the degrees B.Sc. Mathematics and Statistics and thereafter
the honours B.Sc. in Operations Research from Unisa. Since then he has
applied his practical and mathematical knowledge to mine planning problems
using optimisation techniques, statistics, simulation methods and geological
modelling. He applied these skills to a wide range of mine planning problems
in the Anglo American and De Beers Groups and is a highly skilled DATAMINE
and NPV Scheduler planner. He is also well trained and experienced in the
Whittle environments.
